Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club will pay tribute to the borough’s cinematic legacy this season by designing matchday posters inspired by films produced at Ealing Studios. The initiative will span both the men’s and women’s home fixtures, with each poster referencing a different title from the studio’s extensive catalogue.
The campaign begins with the men’s Championship Rugby opener against Chinnor RFC on 11 October, featuring a poster influenced by The Darkest Hour (2017). The women’s team will follow with their PWR Round 1 clash against Exeter Chiefs on 25 October, marked by a design inspired by the 1949 classic Passport to Pimlico.
Ealing Studios is recognised as the world’s longest continuously operating film studio. It has played a pivotal role in shaping British cinema, producing landmark comedies, dramas, and wartime films that have earned international acclaim.
Jack Cairns, Head of Marketing at Ealing Trailfinders, said the initiative reflects the club’s connection to the wider community. “It’s a celebration of two great institutions at the heart of the Ealing community—one that tells stories on the silver screen, and another that plays them out on the pitch,” he said.
The posters will continue throughout the season, drawing on different eras and genres to highlight the borough’s contribution to both sport and culture. The club says the designs aim to showcase local pride and acknowledge the shared heritage between Ealing’s sporting and artistic traditions.

The Rugby World Cup has brought increased attention to players at all levels, and Trailfinders’ campaign seeks to align that spotlight with a broader celebration of Ealing’s identity.
