Students get first-hand experience of running a business
Young entrepreneurs from schools across west London will be putting their business skills to the test this weekend at the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre.
On Saturday 27th February, from 9am to 5pm, the Town Square will host a Trade Fair run by students aged 15 to 19 from Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham.
Those taking part include JJACK (Acton High School) who will be selling masks; Mel’s Charges (Greenford High School) with their customised clothing and Fresh Faces (Phoenix High School) who will be retailing candles.
The students are attending the trade fair as part of the Young Enterprise Company Programme which aims to give young people first-hand experience of running a business. Over the course of the school year, participants create and run their own company, electing a board of directors, raising share capital, marketing, financing and then selling their products and services in their communities.
James Froomberg, Chairman of the Young Enterprise London Board said:
"These students have only been in business for three or four months but have still managed to develop a wide range of exciting products. Now is their opportunity to test out the success of their businesses and these products in a live and competitive market environment. We wish them every success and hope they learn more about the business world.''
