Man Rescued From Grand Union Canal Loses Fight For Life


Found unconscious in water near Three Bridges in Southall

The man who was retrieved from a canal in Southall last week has died.

He had been found unconscious near Three Bridges on the Grand Union Canal in Southall last Thursday afternoon (16 May).

The police say they were called by the London Ambulance Service at 2:07pm to reports of a man found unresponsive. Officers attended and the man was pulled from the water.

He was taken to a nearby hospital and was said to be in a critical condition but died the following day.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and next of kin have been informed.

A file will be prepared for the coroner.
