New Racquets Please

Can anyone help a would-be Wimbledon champ?

An eleven year old Ealing boy who has set his sights on becoming a top tennis star is appealing for help to replace his expensive racquets.

Demetri Smith has been playing since he was four years old and will be representing Ealing in the London Youth Games on Saturday (11th June)

Writing on his blog Demetri says: '' Unfortunately my trusty Head tennis racquets broke, not just one of them, but both of them in the same tournament, I borrowed an adult (wrong size) racquet against a very strong opponent (Daniel Vishnick) in the final of DL Heston Club Tour Premier 12U on 30th April 2011.''

Despite his difficulties Demetrii managed to beat his opponent - straight two sets 4-1 and 4-2 win. This has helped him move up both in the Middlesex Under 12 ranking - to 26- and National Under 12 ranking - to 262.

The racquets he needs are HEAD YouTek IG Speed Elite Tennis Racket (L2) which cost around £119.99 @ SportsDirect.com

He says : '' Now all I have to do is to try and find some money and buy two replacement racquets. Unless you have a spare Head YouTek IG Speed Elite racquet or two?''

Demetri is looking for sponsors and anyone who can help with his equipment - please email demetrismith@hotmail.co.uk
