Reports are coming in of a stabbing on St Mary's Road in Ealing W5.

Councillor Jon Ball who lives in the area has just reported:

'Very sadly there has been a stabbing in Bubbles launderette on St Marys Road W5. Police are chasing gang members on foot.''

He has told us: "Violent crime is thankfully rare in this area but it is shocking when an incident of this nature occurs to someone who is just doing his job. I hope the victim will have a swift recovery and that the police will catch as many as possible of the gang responsible. The rapid deployment of a large number of police was impressive. Residents who have any descriptions or mobile phone pictures of the gang should contact Ealing police immediately."

An eye witness said there had been an early altercation when youths were chased out of the shop by the manager. It's thought they came back mob-handed: about 10 or 12 guys in hoodies and attacked him.  It's not thought the man has life threatening injuries.

Its believed police arrested at least one suspect on scene and chased after others who were spotted at the other end of The Park.
