London's best pizza is to be found...in Ealing
Time Out magazine has awarded Santa Maria pizzeria on St Mary's Road the title of London's best.
This cosy restaurant next to the Red Lion has been doing a roaring trade since opening its doors in February this year.
It's proved popular with locals and word has spread - the eight tables are rarely free.
Bookings can be taken during the week but not at the weekend when you will have to take your chance.
So what makes Santa Maria a winner?
Owners Pasquale Chionchio and Angelo Ambrosio are from Naples - home of Pizza - and have brought a slice of Italy to Ealing.
The pizza is fresh light and very, very tasty.
''..this is faultess pizza. The bases are stretched and flattened with loving precision, the sauce (tomatoes and salt) is silken and subtle, and cheese is applied in just the right quantities.''
'' Crust: exactly the right combination of chewiness and crunch. Portion size: perfect. Pizza doesn’t get better than this, folks.
