Ealing's Police Chief's New Year Message

Let's look forward to 2012 says Commander Andy Rowell

Going into 2012, Ealing Borough has many things to look forward to - the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee being the highlights. With the Olympic flame being paraded through the Borough, this is truly an exciting and once in a lifetime opportunity for many of us living and working on the Borough.

The priorities this year for Ealing are to build on the successes we had last year in reducing violence, robbery and motor vehicle crime. A key priority for us is to continue to raise public confidence and through the work of our Safer Neighbourhood Teams who will always try to deliver a service that deals with the things that matter to you and your families.

I am sure people are aware that we have a new Commissioner in the Metropolis, Mr Bernard Hogan-Howe who has already launched several crime cutting initiatives, such as seizing and the destruction of uninsured motor vehicles and the arresting of people who are bail absconders. There will be more of this throughout 2012 and we will be doing our very best at Ealing to support this activity.

I look forward to the New Year and meeting many of you and working with you in 2012.

I wish you all, on behalf of the officers and staff on Ealing Borough, a very Prosperous New Year.

Andy Rowell

4th January 2012
