Amanda Redman Gets Birthday Gong


MBE for Ealing based actress

Amanda Redman, star of TV's New Tricks, who has helped train dozens of actors at an Ealing based theatre school has been recognised in the Queen's birthday honours.

The 54 year old, who was born in Sussex, is principal of the Artists Theatre School which was founded ten years ago.

The star is best known for her role as Sandra Pullman in the BBC crime drama but has also helped train hundreds of young actors and for this has been awarded an MBE.

She is one of a number of artists, sports men and women and members of the public honoured today.

Actor and director Kenneth Branagh has been knighted in the Queen's Birthday Honours list which also sees Take That singer Gary Barlow - the brains behind the Diamond Jubilee concert - is made an OBE and there is a CBE for Oscar winner Kate Winslet.
