Things I Know To Be True

Top class family drama at The Questors

(Cast: L-R top - Rachel Griffiths, William Busby, Jake Burman,
L-R bottom row David Sellar, Roselle Hirst, Despina Sellar)

Written by the acclaimed Australian author/playwright Andrew Bovell ( best known as co-author of Strictly Ballroom) , this latest Questors staging is an intense and powerful watch.

We learn all about parents Bob and Fran and their four very different offspring over the duration of this mesmerising studio play.

Bob and Fran are proud of the unit they've created and worked hard for and, like all parents want the best for their children. But Pip, Mark, Ben and Rosie all have secrets and over the course of a year the siblings each reach a turning point.

This Questors production, is a great ensemble work and very well directed by David Emmet. I would imagine it to be a highly popular play for any actors involved as each role is an entity of it's own, with great drama in every character portrayal.

Credit must be given to all the cast (first of all for their authentic accents) Rachel Griffiths (Pip), William Busby (Mark), Jake Burman (Ben) David Sellar (Bob) , Roselle Hirst (Rosie) Despina Sellar (Fran). Each of them shone in their convincing portrayals of this 'normal' suburban family.

It's a beautifully written play with huge scope for really big ( think award winning) performances and this Questors team must all be congratulated on fully stepping up to the mark and giving 100% commitment.

Do go and see this play whilst it's still on ( bring tissues) and take some cash too as a particular nice touch at the close was the company's decision to collect donations for the Australian Red Cross Bushfire Emergency Appeal.

Well done all!
