Homes in darkness last night
A power cut plunged more than 700 homes into darkness last night (Sat 23rd March) in parts of W5 and TW8.
It happened at 6.50pm and houses in Windmill Road, Carlyle Rd, Darwin Rd and Enfield Terrace were affected.
A spokesman from Southern Electric (SSE) said 719 customers lost supply but the majority were re-routed and electricity returned to all but 5 customers by 7.30pm.
5 customers (at the Reynard Mills Trading estate) were without electricity until after midnight when a generator was brought in.
The fault was caused by an underground cable and repairs are ongoing.
