After being refused permission to use 'The White House' for commercial activities

A Polish prince who built a replica Polish Palace, 'The White House', in Ealing, is vowing to take his case to the European Court of Human Right after being refused permission to use the property for commercial purposes.

John Zylinski completed his neo-classical Louis XVI house in Park View Road in 2009 and its ballroom holds 200.

It has been used for charity events, photo shoots and an episode of ITV's Miss Marple, but neighbours have been left angered over noise and traffic and complained.

A High Court judge has now backed decisions by local planning inspectors, who agreed with local residents’ objections to the palace being used for commercial purposes in a residential area.

Zylinski, says the White House is in a mixed use area, with a hotel, Ealing Cricket Ground and Barclays Sports Ground catering for functions nearby.

He says neighbours’ claims about disruption stemming from events are “exaggerated” and vows to take his case to the European Court of Human Rights.

On its website The White House claims to be: “a private family home, for which we grant a short-term residential tenancy. As with all residential tenancies in the UK, tenants of The White House may entertain guests, by arrangement with the landlord, provided no nuisance is created for neighbours or the landlord”.
