Community helping Pitshanger stay open
As the £50 council cashback begins to appear in bank accounts charities are urging it be spent wisely.
The 15-year old Pitshanger Community play centre has been struggling with a lack of funding recently and there were fears it may have to close.
Organisers put out a plea for help and have been overjoyed to have received £610 in donations from the local community.
Marion Doheny says:
'' We have had a few £50 donations, the average has been £20 and a lot of £5 notes which is great. We were hoping to raise £500 but need more to help us stay open over the winter. We are lucky to have a good community that support us.''
The playcentre is a community organisation where parents/carers of children under 5 can get support. It's open Monday to Friday mornings 10am to 11.45am and Thursday afternoon 2pm to 4.30pm.
Pitshanger Park, Meadvale road, Ealing W5.
