Pick Pockets on the Increase on Buses

Police issue advice after spate of thefts in Ealing

Bus travellers are being advised to be more careful with belongings after a series of thefts.

Walpole Safer Neighbourhood Team say a number of vulnerable people travelling on buses have had their purses stolen and are offering crime prevention advice to prevent further incidents.

Women are advised to keep their handbags under their arms and close their bodies or strap bags worn across the body.

Purses and wallets should be zipped up and valuables should not be advertised.

Parents with buggies should not leave their bags unattended and when using cash-points, people should be aware of anyone observing or standing close and if someone tries to talk to you, it is advisable to cancel the transaction and remove your card.
