Strong win at UCSOB

The Old Priorians continued their strong start in London NW2 with a 74-12 victory away at UCSOB on Saturday. The OPs were clinical in the first half, stretching the play and creating gaps in the UCSOB defence on numerous occasions.

It was returning number 8, Richard Lowe, who made an impact with many strong carries and intelligent lines. He finished the game with a brace, his first try a 50m burst up the middle of the pitch. Joe Codrington was again incisive, slicing through to create opportunities for his team mates. His try was also impressive, hitting a fantastic line off the back of a ruck to reach the try line untouched. 

Having stormed into a 35-10 lead at half-time, the OPs still had much to improve in the second half. UCSOB were highly competitive at and around the breakdown which was causing the OPs to give up plenty of territory. On the whole this was resolved in the second half as the OPs kept up the tempo and added more urgency to their defence. George Majstorovic finished te game with a brace of his own, just reward for his tireless display in defence and attack. Jack Dever (2), Michael Simpson (2), Sam Codrington and Myles Stringer scored the remaining tries with James Booth scoring 8 conversions and a penalty. Second row Peter O'Neil was outstanding and shared Man of the Match honours with Michael Simpson.
