Saving The NHS

petition to be handed in Friday 24th June

The petition reads:-

Our NHS is precious – we won’t forgive you if you ruin it

Don’t break up our health service and hand it to private healthcare companies.

Listen to the real experts – doctors, nurses and patients – when they give warnings about these plans.

Don’t rush through massive changes without testing them properly first.

Protect patient care- don’t cut beds, wards, doctors or nurses.

Latest News

Andrew Lansley’s Health and Social Care bill is having a rocky ride through parliament.  It has been considerably altered but what remains is the clear intention to continue the theme of market competition by engaging and promoting the private sector. This it falsely assumes will improve efficiency and thus cost savings. The evidence is that private sector contribution has been tiny compared to the enormous advances and continued improvement in the publicly run NHS year on year. The other intention is to raise funds by making it possible for private insurance and patient fees to become part of the system. The public are hostile. Virtually every medical professional body opposes the Bill.
