Shop windows in the centre of Ealing have been covered with new pieces of art celebrating the area's long history with film production.

Daniel Haskett, an artist and illustrator, was commissioned by Make It Ealing, the organisation tasked with promoting Ealing, to create three pieces of work.

The designs, which have been placed in the windows of three empty shops on Ealing Broadway, were unveiled recently.

Daniel has printed his work onto vinyl sheets and includede references to Dr Who, Downton Abbey, The Ladykillers and Monthy Python, all of which have to some extent been filmed in Ealing Studios and the local area.

Daniel was born and raised in Ealing and also produces prints and cards of Ealing which are sold, alongside other work he has done, from his website www.danielhaskett.com and a shop within Ealing Broadway shopping centre called The Curated Collective.

This commission resulted in the largest work he has created to date and he is hoping it will lead onto more similar commissions.

A short video has been made of the installation.

With the Hanwell Hootie free musical festival soon to be with us on the 7 May, Daniel has also worked in conjunction with the organisers to produce prints and cards of the event with a percentage of sales going to the Hootie. These will be available from their merchandising tent on the day but also online.

Daniel currently lives in Berlin but frequently returns to Ealing and says he was proud to have been given this commission.
