Knives and Drugs Seized in Neighbourhood Sweep

Operations on the Green Man Estate and in Hanwell

Knives, needles and drug paraphernalia have been seized during a weapons sweep on the Green Man Estate in West Ealing.

Officers from Elthorne Safer Neighbourhoods Team conducted the search as part of Operation Blunt - a pan-London crime initiative which aims to reduce the number of knives on London's streets.

Meanwhile 150 cannabis plants together with lighting and air-conditioning equipment were seized from an address on Oaklands Road, Hanwell.

In addition to the weapons sweep and search warrant execution, officers from Elthorne SNT teamed up with members of Safer Ealing Partnership to take part in a Community Engagement Day held at St John’s Primary School in Ealing and at the Green Man Estate.

Approximately 100 local residents were provided with crime prevention advice and over 300 school children were involved in the event.

PS Naeem Fazal from Elthorne Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We were very pleased with the outcome of this joint initiative. It was very reassuring to see so many people interested in the type of work we do to keep the local community safe. I would like to thank all out partners for supporting us and working alongside us to reduce the levels of crime in Ealing and make it an even safer place to be”.
