Urgent Jelly Baby Appeal

Can you help supply Ealing runners with much needed sugar?

One of the reasons the Ealing Half Marathon has won so many accolades ( incl Best Half Marathon 2014 + No 1 for atmosphere) is because of the incredible Ealing support.

It's one of the things I remember most about this fabulous day.

From the initial cheers at Lammas Park to the many, many, people who stood outside their houses throughout the 13.1 mile route shouting words of encouragement. It really does help.

Fiona Warren was part of that experience first time round and recalls helping many exhausted runners.

She says : '' For the first Ealing Half Marathon I stood outside my house on Broomfield Road with a bowl of jelly babies for runners heading towards the finish (I'm about a mile from the finishing line in Lammas Park). These were very gratefully received but they ran out quickly, even after a trip to the shop to buy a few more bags.''

Fiona's now appealing for more help to ensure she has enough jelly babies on the day - because those at the end (like me) are often much more in need than those at the front (who take them all!)

She says : '' Would any Ealing Today readers / local businesses care to sponsor the jelly babies this year? You can come and take photos to prove I'm not eating them all myself!''

Ealing Today has been happy to donate a few bags (with the strict criteria that she saves a few of the red ones for me!)

Can anyone else help a very good cause?
