Accident happened at new traffic system in Hanwell
A woman in her thirties has been taken to Ealing Hospital after a road traffic collision at a controversial new roundabout in Hanwell.
London Ambulance Service were called just before 11am this morning (1st July) to reports of a two car crash at the Uxbridge Road/Church Road junction.
They sent two ambulances and London Fire Brigade attended and cut free a woman from the vehicle.
She was treated for back and abdominal injuries before being taken to hospital as a priority.
Another elderly patient was checked over at the scene.
The new road layout - which consists of two zebra crossings, pedestrian crossings and a roundabout in a small area - has been the cause of much concern locally and been described as like the 'wild west' and 'a catastrophe waiting to happen'.
