Joint partnership day in W7
A recent crackdown by police and council officers in Hanwell led to arrests, a temporary restaurant closure and concerns that four properties were fire risks.
The Partnership Day took place on on March 17th, in the morning police descended outside Viaduct Public house, Uxbridge Road, and held an automated number plate reading (ANPR) operation.
• Two vehicles were seized for No Insurance under operation reclaim
• Three fixed penalty notices were issued
• Two arrest were made for driving whilst disqualified, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs and failing to surrender for bail.
LBE Council Envirocrime prevention enforcement team had 14 vehicles inspected for carrying waste/waste carrier license compliance.
Joint visits made to several problematic premises (by LBE Community Safety, Licensing, Environmental Health, Envirocrime, London Fire Service and local Police) which resulted in:
• Two notices of planning enforcement
• A referral for further health and safety inspection
• Fire Risk Surveys conducted, resulting in letters of deficiency to be sent to four properties with follow-up visits planned
• One immediate restaurant closure under food hygiene regulations
• Waste disposal checks
• Smoke-free legislation and licensing advice given
Mobile crime prevention unit involving the LBE PCSO team were operating in Boston Road Triangle area supplying local residents with information and advice on crime prevention issues involving robbery, burglary and anti-social behaviour and conduct high visibility patrols (HVPs) in the area to deter crime and provide reassurance for the local community. This resulted in:
• One Section 5 public Order Act penalty notice issued
• Around 300 vulnerable vehicle advice forms issued to vehicles users (LBE Team).
