Collection for Family of Greenford Murder Victim

Investigations continue into the killing

A collection is being taken for the family of a musician murdered under the Greenford Roundabout last March.

Ian Newtion, a delivery driver, also known as Scoobie Santino, was a singer who had a hit called Cash Money in the 1990s.

The 45-year-old had performed at a party at the Scout Hut in Rockware Avenue, and was making his way home to Fulham when he was attacked.

The incident was featured by the BBC’s “Crimewatch” programme earlier this year and - the investigation into his death continues.

This is the first Christmas that his family will be without him and the donations are intended as a mark of sympathy from local residents, to be used to defray their expenses or put towards a memorial.

It is hoped that it will  also act as a reminder to any undiscovered witnesses who can give information to the Metropolitan Police (020 8358 0400) or anonymously through Crimestoppers (0800 555 111).  

The money will be passed on to the family through the local Safer Communities Team by ward councillor Sue Emment.

At present money can be donated at The Railway pub, 390 Oldfield Lane North, close to Greenford Station.
