A local resident told us:

'' I live on the same road as the restaurant so heard the bang then ran out to see what was going on. Only one person was hurt, I believe he was the chef and he was burnt in some way. Not life threatening. All the downstairs windows were blown out.''

Police say they were called by the London Ambulance Service at approximately 8:45pm on Thursday, 29 March to reports of what is believed to be a gas explosion at a restaurant on St Matthew's Road, W5.

Officers and the London Fire Brigade are in attendance.

One person has been treated for injuries.

Road closures are in place whilst emergency services remain at the scene.
