Gambado seeking new locations
Whilst Ealing is more than equipped with great parks it's not always the best place to entertain the kids during wet school holidays.
For such a large borough there are currently very few privately owned indoor play facilities. However this could all change.
Gambado - one of the UK's fastest growing indoor play operators - is looking at a variety of areas to expand, Ealing is one.
The company currently has sites in Chelsea , Beckenham, Milton Keynes, and Basildon and wants to develop four additional Gambado centres every year over the next five years.
They have specific site requirements, including a large ground floor area, car parking space and a minimum catchment of 60,000 children between the ages of 0-10 within a 20 minute drive.
Managing Director Iain Westwater says:
''Having had a successful initial 12 months trading we now urgently require more property mainly inside the M25 or within a 20 minute drive time of it.''
He is urging anyone with ideas for possible site locations to get in contact.
A Day at Gambado Chelsea
If you really have to endure the hell that is a children's soft play centre then give this one a go - the wifi facility, magazines and newspapers and availability of decent food (and wine) make it far more bearable for grown-ups.
The children will love the traditional soft play frame but Gambado's added excitement is the mini dodgems and carousel - included in the entry fee. We went on a school inset day - so no queues - and, whilst I worked on my laptop the kids were energetically engaged for most of the day. Result!
Gambado is a different sort of play centre - whilst it's great fun for kids it's really rather civilised for adults - quite an achievement.
It's certainly not cheap (one off registration fee £5, adult £2.50 and child aged 3-10 £9.45) but if everyone's happy and tired out at the end of the day it's got to be worth it!
