Ealing Branch of Flaming Cow Burgers Shuts Its Doors

Owner of the Bond Street restaurant blames poor trading conditions

It opened just two years ago on Bond Street in Ealing town centre, but Flaming Cow burgers has now closed its doors.

The restaurant was the second of the Flaming Cow chain, the first being in Eton but owner/director Tarek Elawadi says in terms of trading the two branches were like chalk and cheese.

Mr Elawadi told us that although Eton was a smaller restaurant it was continually busy and makes double the revenue of Ealing.

He said he was sad to shut and leave Ealing but had no alternative, ''Trading was really difficult and I couldn't justify ploughing more money into it. I just had to make the decision that it would be better to close than suffer sustained losses.''

He thinks that the Bond Street location may not have been right and if he had the chance to start again would have chosen the high street or closer to the station.

The property is now on the market and Mr Elawadi says he expects to hear by the end of the week if it will be sold.
