Spoof on twitter had residents wondering
April 1st may be a few months away but users of the social media platform, twitter, fell for Ealing Council's 'apparent' newly launched logo today.
Gone was the familiar green tree and it's place was... a wheelie bin.
Garden designer Sue Creak (@breezegd) says she made the alternate logo as a bit of a statement about the unpopular bins, and as a bit of fun. She told Ealing Today: ''I got the idea as we had a talk from one of the council's tree officers at our local Creffield Area Residents' Association annual dinner.... he did a great talk about trees in the borough, and pointed out there's a tree on the current logo. I thought it would be really fun to replace it with a wheelie bin instead.''

There was some confusion when she tweeted the logo though but Ealing Council were swift to respond:
@eleccoffee @breezegd @goviewlondon @ealingtodaycouk @EalingTories To confirm we don't have a new logo. It's a spoof

Sue says: ''I did it because I am really annoyed at the wheelie bin roll out as its going to make our our front gardens and streets look really scruffy. I have tried tweeting before and after photos of a front garden previously but without too much response... so went for the logo instead.
"I thought it would be obvious that it was not for real - so surprised that the council had to tweet that it was a spoof!!''
