Second Stage of Cycleway 9 Works to Begin This Month
TfL warns of likely delays throughout the area

Transport for London (TfL) have announced that the second stage of roadworks relating to the construction of Cycleway 9 are to begin later this month.
From 17 March the work will extend from the existing site near the junction with Kew Bridge along Kew Bridge Road as far as the Jet Petrol station in Brentford. Work on this section is scheduled to continue until mid-July with the project around Kew Bridge now due to finish in October 2020.
TfL are warning that the lane closures that will be required during these works are likely to lead to delays on the A406 (Gunnersbury Avenue), Kew Bridge Road and Chiswick High Road (A205). They say they will be doing all they can to mitigate the resulting congestion by proactively managing traffic signal timings in the area.
The works include changes to kerb lines, construction of cycle tracks, resurfacing of footways and carriageways, and the introduction of a new signalised crossing.
The project is to be carried out in phases beginning with the northern site of the A315, between the Express Tavern pub and Green Dragon Lane with work there lasting until mid-April. Then until early May the switchover of the cycle track from the northern side to the southern side of the A315 just east of the junction with Thames Row will be built along with the construction of a new signalised crossing.
From late-April to mid-May 2020 they will be working on the southern side of the A315 between Costa and the junction with Green Dragon Lane. In early to late May 2020 they will work on the northern side of the A315 between the switchover of
the cycle track (opposite Thames Row) and the Jet Petrol Station and following that they will switch to the southern side, between Thames Row and Green Dragon Lane where work will continue until mid-July.
There will also be work taking place at the same time on Kew Bridge Road and Chiswick High Road (A205) relating to the Brentford FC football stadium.
TfL say they will be working on the site from 8am to 5pm on weekdays, 8am to 4.30pm on Saturdays, and 9am to 4pm on Sundays and that no noisy work will take place after 11pm on any day. These working hours have been agreed with Hounslow
Council.
