A man has died following a fire at a block of flats in Ealing town centre last month.

Six fire engines and 40 firefighters were called to Craven Avenue at 5.27 am on 17 September.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) say a flat on the second floor of the block was badly damaged and a small part of the outside of the building was also damaged.

One man had left the building before the fire service arrived, another was rescued by crew wearing breathing apparatus -both men were taken to hospital but LFB say that sadly the second man has since died.

Crews from Ealing, Acton, Southall, Chiswick and Wembley attended. Surrounding roads were blocked off. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
