The Ealing Project, the new cultural hub in the centre of Ealing, is set to open at the end of this month at the site of the former Karma Club.
For its first month of operation, the cinema in the development, will be offering tickets at just £6 a reference to the prices that prevailed in 2008, the last time that Ealing had a cinema.
The programme for July includes Jurassic World Dominion, Lightyear, Elvis, Where The Crawdads Sing and Thor: Love & Thunder. The project owners promise a range of ‘carefully selected’ independent films alongside the blockbusters.
The multi-screen venue also has an entertainment space and will be hosting comedy clubs, quiz evenings and lots of live music. Highlights in the upcoming programme include a collaboration with Bollo Brook youth club and a screening of the Ealing-made documentary Suburban Steps to Rockland, centred around the famous Ealing Club.
The new opening is from the team at Really Local Group, the people behind Catford Mews and Reading Biscuit Factory. During the day the space will be available to be used for co-working or for local groups to use as they need.
The Ealing Project has also introduced a membership scheme. At just £45 a year for an annual adult membership, the scheme includes five tickets and gives members 20% off all future tickets (for the member and a guest/family), 20% off all food and drink in the venue, a free drink on first purchase, invites to quarterly, free member events and a 3x month free MUBI trial.
A discount Membership is also available for Students, >50’s, NHS and Bluelight card holders: priced at £28 this scheme includes four tickets and all the other perks of the full membership.
You can buy your membership now online.
Preston Benson, Founder of Really Local Group commented, “We can’t wait to open the doors to The Ealing Project, breathing new life into a disused venue and bringing an exciting range of film and culture to the local community. We’re very proud of the space we’ve created and we’re confident Ealing locals and newcomers alike will enjoy the huge new space and rich programme of films, art installations and events.”
Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway, said “The Ealing Project will be a fantastic addition to Ealing Broadway, with shoppers able to factor in a cinema trip, event, exhibition, or evening of live music to their visit to the centre.
“We’re also excited for locals to have the opportunity to use the new space for work meetings or catch ups with friends and welcome the new selection of films which will be available. The Ealing Project will complement our strong mix of retailers and restaurants at the centre, which we hope to continue expanding over the next few months.”
