A mum-to-be from Ealing Common is celebrating after reaching the finals of a national awards programme to find the UK’s best Parent blogs.

Cathy Winston’s blog, www.mummytravels.com, is one of just five in the best family travel category of the MAD Blog Awards (http://www.the-mads.com) beating more than 2,000 other blogs nominated in the awards.

Cathy said: “I started writing a blog when I became pregnant, and everyone told me it meant I would have to stop travelling – my first baby is due in July, and I wanted to test out whether motherhood really meant giving up one of the things I love, and share some of my tips and experiences.

'' It’s wonderful to know that people enjoy reading what I write, and I’m really excited to have reached the finals of the awards, especially as the blog is so new.”

Blog readers around the UK are now invited to vote for their favourite blogs at the MAD Blog Awards website, and the winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony in London in September, sponsored by Parentdish.co.uk (http://www.parentdish.co.uk).
