Notting Hill & Ealing High School (NHEHS) is hosting 14 students from Ukraine for the next two weeks.

They are attending as part of the 'Future Leaders Exchange Programme (FLEX)' run by UKUATogether (UKUAT), a charity fostering secure, economic and growth-orientated connections between the UK and Ukraine. It is part of their current phase of work to help ‘rebuild’ Ukraine through nurturing its future leaders.

The students will experience lessons and workshops across a range of subjects, including enterprise and economics, psychology, geography, Mandarin, robotics and science, as well as art and music. During their stay, they will also gain an insight into the aviation industry with UKUAT partner Wizz Air, meet with organisations such as Google and UCL, and visit Lords Cricket Ground, the Tower of London and Parliament.

NHEHS Sixth Form pupils will help their guests immerse into school life while they gain insight into the current day-to-day situation in Ukraine. The students are being hosted by local NHEHS families during their visit.

Headmaster Matthew Shoults said, “We are delighted to be hosting these exceptional students and sharing our knowledge and teaching with them. We have a strong record of partnership work and are proud to be extending this to the Ukrainian leaders of the future and helping foster UK-Ukraine relationships.”

UKUAT has partnered with NHEHS and Alleyn’s School to host 26 students in total. The students, aged 16 and 17 and from the Kyiv Region of Ukraine, were put forward by the Ukraine Regional Government and handpicked by UKUATogether, based on their leadership skills, involvement in community, English language and desire to succeed in their future chosen fields.
