Featherstone Primary & Nursery School in Southall is celebrating the outcome of its latest Ofsted inspection which rated it as Good.
An ungraded inspection of the was made on 9-10 November and, according to Ofsted, the school potentially could have received the highest grade of ‘Outstanding’ if a full inspection had been made due to evidence of improved performance.
Even so, the rating is a significant achievement for the school, as the requirements to receive a ‘Good’ rating are the highest they have ever been.
Comments from the inspectors included, “Leaders have created an environment where every single pupil is nurtured. Pupils are happy and kept safe” and “Every member of staff is committed to promoting pupils’ well-being.”
The behaviour of the pupils was praised as was their pride in their school. The high expectations of staff were also highlighted as well as the prioritising of early reading.
Bullying at the school is described as rare and, when it does occur, it is quickly dealt with.
Headteacher Des Lee said, “Our parents, families, children, staff, governors and the whole local community are incredibly proud that Ofsted have acknowledged all the excellent, hard work of staff, pupils, parents and governors. “
