Ealing Students Excel in A Level Exams


This year sees another set of outstanding results from local schools

Elthorne Park Sixth Form students and staff are celebrating yet another year of record results, with academic achievement improved once again. Almost three quarters of all grades awarded at A* - B grades and almost one quarter of A Level grades at A* - A.

The top performing students were Jaymin Shah, who achieved A*, A*, A in Mathematics, Psychology and Further Mathematics along with an A is AS Chemistry, an A in his Extended Project and an A in Additional Maths, and Kate Wills who achieved A*A*A in Maths, Chemistry and Physics, along with an A is AS Chemistry, an A in her Extended Project and an A in Additional Maths.

Umut Korkmaz achieved A*s in Maths and Further Maths with an A in Physics as well as AS Chemistry. Exceptional performance was also demonstrated by Calvin Coffey (A*, A, A), Zamir Savari (A, A, B), Edmund Rolph (A*, A, A), Erica Marin (A, A, B), Sam Hayes (A, A, B) and Madzia Noga (A*, A, B). The school is also incredibly proud of excellent BTEC results. Top achiever was Alex Ravenhill who gained D*D*D* in BTEC Sport along with a B in A Level Psychology.

Headteacher, Eliot Wong said, “Yet again I am immensely proud of what our students and staff have achieved, working together to gain our best yet academic outcomes. Our sixth form continues to go from strength to strength, improving year on year to deliver excellent results. I wish all of our fantastic students the very best; they all have exciting futures ahead of them!”

73% of sixth form students at St Benedict's, Ealing, achieved A* to B, and 41% of entries gained A* to A. Twenty-one students - 20% of the year group - achieved straight A*s and As. Aine McColgan has achieved 4 A*s and will read Physics at university, following a gap year with Proctor and Gamble. Victoria Szymanska (former Deputy Head Girl) achieved 2 A*s and 2 As and will study Medicine at St Andrew's University. Former Head Boy, Lorcan O'Brien, has gained an A* and 2 As and will read Philosophy and Theology at Oxford.

The Headmaster, Andrew Johnson, said: "I am delighted to be able to congratulate our sixth form students on achieving excellent A level results, thanks to their hard work and the dedicated guidance and support given by their teachers. There have been some stellar individual performances, and very many of our leavers are now heading to top Russell Group universities."
