Former St Benedict's Pupil To Play The Baa-Baas

Wasps star dons England shirt at Twickenham

Joe Simpson is one of four Wasps players named as replacements for the non-cap game against the Barbarians at Twickenham on Sunday.

The 21 year old scrum half - who went to St Benedict's School in Eaton Rise - is a rising star and has already been nominated for the Land Rover Discovery of the Season, despite missing three months through injury.

According to Wasps Joe began to realise his talents when he started winning races at school aged six. He went on to represent his school at cricket, to play cricket for Ealing Club, and to win his school Victor Ludorum for athletics three times, taking the honours through junior, middle and senior school.

He joined Wasps Academy full time from St Benedict's in the summer of 2006 and puts his success so far down to his parents, his school coach Martin Knight, Richmond coach, Mike Reilly as well as Wasps Academy coach, Alun Powell.

Uncapped Simpson along with Dan Ward Smith will line up alongside Tim Payne and Joe Worsley in the England 22.

All four Wasps players play the Barbarians, at Twickenham on Sunday, kick off at 5pm, ahead of England summer tour of Australia and New Zealand.
