Local residents help close down cannabis factory

Police are praising the residents of a W5 street after their actions helped close down a major cannabis factory.

On Friday 28th October 2011 Northfield SNT in a joint operation with Ealing Common SNT and led by Sergeant Adeyinka entered a property on Niagara Avenue near Blondin Park.

Nobody was found in the premises but in excess of 270 adult plants and 150 juvenile plants with a street value of between £300,000 and £325,000 were seized and subsequently destroyed.

No one has been arrested police enquires continue.

Sergeant Adeniyi Adeyinka from Northfield Safer Neighborhoods’ Team said; ''As a result of our ongoing patrols and with intelligence from local residents we made a significant discovery of this cannabis factory in a residential street. This cannabis factory has now been taken out of action and I would like to assure residents that any information about drug dealing or crime given to us will be acted upon.

''We would like to thank the residents of Niagara Avenue for bringing this address to the attention of police and for their continued co-operation and patience during the subsequent, but necessary, investigations prior to closure.”
