Alternative Health Workers to Lobby Parliament

Local homeopaths say treatments should be freely available

Homeopaths and patients from Ealing will join others from across the UK to lobby their MPs and hand in a declaration, ‘Homeopathy worked for me’, signed by around 25,000 people.

It's been organised by the charity Homeopathy: Medicine for the 21st Century. They believe that tens of thousands of people in the UK who use Homeopathy each year are being denied a voice.

Homeopathy is a system of medicine which is based on treating the individual with highly diluted substances given in mainly tablet form, which triggers the body’s natural system of healing.

Various scientists have argued against its effectiveness but homeopathy has a loyal following.

Helen Kimball-Brooke, a local practitioner is supporting the lobby, she says:

''Homeopathy has been available on the NHS since its inception in 1948. The provision of Homeopathy was written into its charter by Aneurin Bevan and millions of British citizens have benefited from this gentle but highly effective form of natural medicine.

''My patients use homeopathy because it is non-toxic, safe for any age from birth to retirement and best of all, effective. In my twelve years of practice I have seen so many wonderful successes; the impact of the right homeopathic remedy or remedies never ceases to amaze me.''

Homeopaths argue that particularly in the current financial crisis Homeopathy is needed because it is cheap, effective and non-toxic.

The lobby is part of a campaign to convince MPs that it needs to be expanded not reduced.

If you believe in freedom of choice in healthcare, that Homeopathy must be available on the NHS and that our homeopathic hospitals must be encouraged to continue their valuable research, please join us outside the Houses of Parliament on the 24th of February.
