Redevelopment plans to be revealed to the public
Two Ealing schools are set to reveal for the first time plans for how they could be transformed as part of the borough’s £300million Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.
Dormers Wells High School, Southall, and The Cardinal Wiseman School, Greenford are hosting exhibitions in February and March to showcase the plans for new school buildings and upgraded ICT.
Cardinal Wiseman’s exhibition will take place in their school hall on Monday 22 February from 3.30- 7.30pm. Dormers Wells’ exhibition was originally planned for 11 February, but will now take place on Tuesday 2 March from 4.00- 7.30pm in the school library.
Under the plans Dormers Wells will be completely rebuilt, while the Cardinal Wiseman scheme will include new buildings as well rebuilding and refurbishing other parts of the school.
Building work at both schools is scheduled to start in October.
Two companies are currently competing to carry out the work. The exhibitions will display the two competing designs for each of the schools and officers from Ealing Council and the two companies will be on hand to answer any questions.
Ealing Council’s £300 million BSF programme is part of a national government scheme to improve and modernise schools. In total, seventeen schools will be rebuilt and refurbished in the borough and a new high school will be built in Greenford.
