Samanter, was ordered to serve a minimum of 11 and a half years imprisonment. He was found guilty of murder on 10 October 2012. His accomplice Dualeh, was ordered to serve a minimum of 13 years imprisonment after pleading guilty to murder on 2 October 2012.

On 11 August 2011 emergency services found Abdullahi Osman, 31, a Somali national of Uxbridge, collapsed in Dean Gardens with head injuries.

He was taken to St Mary's Hospital where he remained in a critical condition and on life-support for over 24 hours. Despite extensive treatment, Mr Osman's condition rapidly deteriorated and he died in the early hours of Saturday 13 August. A post mortem gave the cause of death as a blunt trauma injury to the head.

Samanter and Dualeh were arrested close to the scene on suspicion of assault approximately 20 minutes after the attack had happened. They were subsequently charged with GBH on 12 August, and further charged with murder following Mr Osman's death.

A third man, Mohamed Ahmed Jeylani, 23, who was arrested in connection with the incident on 11 August, close to the scene, was subsequently released with no further action taken.

Detective Inspector Simon Ashwin, of the Homicide and Serious Crime Command [HSCC], said: "Mr Osman was fatally assaulted during a drink induced unprovoked attack. Samanter and Dualeh were identified minutes after they left the scene by officers with the assistance of Ealing Borough CCTV operators, leaving them with no opportunity to evade the police.

"I hope that today's sentences enable the Osman family to start building their lives again, with Samanter and Dualeh now serving a significant period behind bars."
