Police Specials Target Ealing's Crime Hotspots

Operation Spring Hope launched

Police will be cracking down on night-time violence and targeting uninsured cars and unlicensed drivers this weekend.

It's part of 'Operation Spring Hope' and the Ealing Specials will be out on the streets using an automatic number plate reader. Uninsured drivers could be handed a £200 fine, six points on their licence or have their car taken away.

On Sunday, there will be a crime prevention and recruitment stand in Ealing Broadway shopping centre for anyone wanting to be a police volunteer, special constable or cadet.

A new team of seven Specials has also been set up to patrol the Town Centre and they will be working closely with Ealing Broadway Safer Neighbourhood Team, Ealing Business Improvement District and the Council.
