Injured youths discharged from hospital after gang fight
Police officers from the Met's Trident Unit are appealing for information after a major altercation between two gangs in West Ealing left two youths in hospital, one shot and one stabbed.
The fight is believed to have started in a restaurant on the Uxbridge Road. The police received their first report of trouble at around 1.35am on Sunday morning (16th December).
Emergency services found two injured teenagers at the scene. One, aged 16, had gunshot wounds to his legs and the second, also 16 had stab wounds to his legs and buttocks. They were both taken to a west London hospital and have now been discharged following treatment.
Two youths appeared at Ealing Magistrates Court on 17 December charged in connection with this incident. The boy who received the stab wounds was arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been bailed to return to a west London police station on date in January pending further enquiries. Another youth aged 18 was also arrested but released with no further action taken.
Chief Inspector Dan Thorpe, Ealing Safer Neighbourhoods said, '"Following the incident on 16 December we would like to reassure our communities that we are working closely with the Trident Gang Command to thoroughly investigate this incident. As a means of reassurance to the public within the vicinity of Uxbridge Road, officers from the Ealing Broadway and Walpole Safer Neighbourhoods Teams have increased foot and vehicle patrols and will be engaging with residents to answer any concerns and provide up-to-date information."

Uxbridge Road was closed for much of Sunday following the incident.
The Metropolitan police have said that the helicopter which hovered above Ealing until about 3am was providing tactical support for officers following a protracted serious incident. The Met apologised for any disturbance caused.
