Ladies Get Naked in Hanwell in Aid of Charity

Baring all for calendar to raise funds for ovarian cancer research

A group of very plucky Hanwell ladies have bared all – literally - in aid of ovarian cancer research.

They stripped off and posed at various Hanwell landmarks for a calendar, ‘Ovarian Cancer Action: Hanwell's Florence and Friends’ the proceeds of which will go to Ovarian Cancer Action. Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common in the UK with seven thousand women a year diagnosed.

The calendar was the idea of Florence Wilks, an ex-teacher who was herself was first diagnosed in 2010 with Stage 3C Cancer, then the cancer recurred in 2011.

“I had so much fun organizing the calendar and am very grateful for the help of some very brave friends with a good sense of humour”.

Elaine Hill, who was one of the women said “I just thought, ‘I’ve never done anything like this before, so why not?’

Florence is hoping to raise £6000 from calendar sales and is already well on the way. When it was launched last week at W7 Emporium over £1000 worth were sold.
