Man Injured in Cash Raid at Northfields Station


British Transport Police appealing for any witnesses to this morning's incident

A security van guard has been injured after a cash box raid at Northfields Station this morning.

BTP and Metropolitan Police officers were called the Tube station at 9.30am.

Two men wearing dark clothing approached the security van guard and robbed him of the cash box before fleeing the station.

Officers searched the area and found an abandoned vehicle believed to have been used in the robbery.

An empty cash box has been recovered from the vehicle.

The incident left the security van guard with a minor hand injury and he has been taken to hospital for treatment.

A BTP spokesman said:

“Detectives are conducting a number of local enquiries into the incident and anyone who saw anything or who has any information that could assist the investigation into this incident is asked to contact police.”
