Year 3 project on Acton bags books for primary
Children at St Vincent’s Roman Catholic Primary School in Acton, will benefit from more books after winning a history competition.
Pupils in year three at the school on Pierrepoint Road put together lively booklets and collages of pictures and photographs for their Autumn Term local history project based on the transformation of Acton as a local community.
A cheque for £200 was presented by Mrs Amanda Knights, co-author (with husband, David) of 'Acton Through Time', on behalf of Acton History Group - organiser of the competition, and former Ealing Mayor, and John Gallagher, on behalf of Acton Charities’ Educational Trust, the sponsor.
Mrs Knights said: '' “We try to organise the competition annually but some years there are no entrants, which is surprising.''
