Hathaway Primary School Ealing

Hathaway School

Hathaway School

Hathaway is a medium-sized school in a residential area of North Ealing. While its SATS results are not as high as some central Ealing schools, its performance is above average when compared to schools of a similar nature, and at 85% of children achieving Level 4, particularly strong in science.

Its December 2002 OFSTED report says: "National Curriculum test results at the end of Year 6 have shown an overall improvement over the last three years, and the performance in 2002 represents good progress for the pupils from their previous results at the end of Year 2. There is a high proportion of good teaching which is enabling pupils to achieve well in lessons and make good progress. Standards are improving and relationships within the school are very good. The headteacher, senior staff and subject leaders are providing a clear direction for the school after a period of some uncertainty."

An ex-pupil writes "I came back to do work experience there in 2001 and 2003 and I will never forget the great experiences I have had there...My experiences in Hathaway have helped me in my decision to study Primary Education and hopefully become a primary school teacher...I would also like to add that Hathaway Primary school is the best primary school and even teachers visiting me on work experience felt very positively towards the school. It has always been such a warming and welcoming place. I suggest it to anyone who inquires about primary schools. It has helped me a lot."
