Linden Gardens gets CPZ switch

Petition successful in getting road moved to Mid-Chiswick scheme

The residents of Linden Gardens have won their battle to have their street transferred into the Mid-Chiswick parking scheme. The transfer introduces restrictions for non-resident parking into the afternoon. The U shaped road just off the High Road had been identified by shoppers and local businesses as a convenient place to park.

The Chiswick Area Committee considered the recommendation following the presentation of a petition from local residents. The petition in the form of a series of questions was issued to the 106 households in Linden Gardens and 57 responses were received. 90% of respondents felt that the parking situation for residents needed to be improved by the transfer of the road from the Central Chiswick Parking Scheme
to the Mid-Chiswick Parking Scheme which has longer operational hours.

The residents of Linden Gardens have also maintained their right to dual zone permits for the Central and Mid Chiswick Parking Schemes. At the same meeting it was agreed that the effectiveness of the advisory ‘unsuitable for heavy goods vehicles’ signs at the entrance to road should be monitored for 6 months to assess whether the further restriction of a 7.5 tonnes weight limit is advisable.
