What courses would you like at Griffin Park

Brentford FC Community Sport Trust (BFCCST) is delighted to announce the start of an exciting new partnership with Hounslow Adult and Community Education (HACE) which will see a range of adult learning and skills courses run within the Griffin Park Learning Zone.

Computer Courses, ‘Made of Money’ Budgeting, Employability, Cooking, Sewing, Gardening, Healthy Lifestyles, English and Maths……and lots more!

Griffin Park Learning Zone is throwing open its doors for an Adult Learning Taster Day on Saturday 14th November 10am till 1pm where anyone aged 19 years and above has the chance to chat 1:1 with tutors from a range of different subjects. These include Employability, ESOL, English, Maths and IT – where staff will not only advise on relevant courses but also be able to trouble shoot any individual IT problems.
The day is designed to offer Brentford and Hounslow residents the chance to tell HACE what courses they would like them to facilitate at Brentford FC. Following the Taster day HACE will work with GPLZ and start to build a tailored timetable of learning courses. The Learning Zone is a relaxed, safe environment and offers an alternative learning experience from most traditional education settings. Refreshments will be available on the day with the chance to also take a tour of Griffin Park Stadium.

If you would like more information or to book a space please contact Julie Apsey at HACE on 020 8583 6000 or email Julie.apsey@hounslow.gov.uk.

“Working in partnership with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust is about taking adult learning into the heart of the community. Only by working together can we ensure council courses for local residents are relevant, high quality and fun.  Whether you are interested in informal learning or pursuing an accredited qualification we are here to help you get the skills you need to achieve your goals” Vicki Taylor, Assistant Head of Lifelong Learning at Hounslow Adult and Community Education Service.
Chris Barrett, GPLZ Centre Manager said, “We have a positive history of creating learning opportunities for young people across Hounslow and working with HACE allows us to extend this to adults. We can see that HACE offer a large portfolio of courses across the Borough and if we add the chance to learn within a professional football stadium, this is an exciting combination for potential new learners – especially those within the Brentford area.”
Developing lifelong learners has always been a long term aim for GPLZ and this new partnership opens up another exciting chapter to take forward into the new Lionel Road Stadium. There will be a purpose built, flexible learning space which will continue to allow GPLZ to be more creative with the education provision they are able to provide the local community.
