Crime Matters in Southfield

Meeting 28th September - committee volunteers sought

On Wednesday 28th September, from 7pm, there is a public meeting which takes place in Southfield which involves the police updating residents about local crime matters. It will take place at the Carlton Road Day Centre, Carlton Road, W4 and it is easy to get to, using the E3 bus or a 10 minute walk from Turnham Green tube station.

The Southfield police forum is made up of residents, local councillors and the police. The meeting will report on a number of local police matters concerning Chiswick and Acton that have happened over the past year.

One very important matter is that a number of committee members stand down each year (after having served three years).

To ensure the group can be successful volunteers will be needed. There are only 4 meetings a year, in the evening. The group decide the dates in advance. Residents who take part really make a lot of difference as you can direct the police into spending their time on particular projects or issues that the group think are the LOCAL priorities.

At the meeting the police will also give you advice on reducing crime.

If you want more information about the meeting please email me via gary.malcolm@ealing.gov.uk or Tweet me at @CllrGaryMalcolm or call me on 07813 205218.

If you do not wish to serve on the group then please do attend the meeting so you can hear about the current crime issues in the area.

Thank you,
Councillor Gary Malcolm
