Action West London has announced a new spring timetable for its “Movement on the Mount” programme, offering a series of free fitness and wellbeing sessions designed specifically for women in the local community.

The classes, held at St Mary’s Church Hall in Acton, aim to provide a safe and welcoming space for women of all ages and backgrounds to get active.

The charity has partnered with Ealing Fit Club and Elevate Arts to deliver a varied schedule throughout April and May, with sessions tailored to different lifestyles and fitness levels. The programme includes street dance for teenage girls, high-intensity interval training for adults, and gentle stretching sessions for unpaid carers.

A six-week street dance course for girls aged 15 to 18 begins on Monday 13 April, led by Elevate Arts. The weekly evening sessions are designed to help young women build confidence, learn new skills and stay active in a fun, energetic environment.

For adults aged 18 to 60, Ealing Fit Club will run 30-minute HIIT classes every Wednesday morning at 9.15am. The sessions are aimed at women looking for a quick workout after the school run, with both high- and low-intensity options available.

Unpaid carers are being offered dedicated time to focus on their own wellbeing through a weekly “Relax & Stretch” class every Friday at 10.45am. Led by Keep Fit with Karen, the session provides gentle movement and relaxation for those who spend much of their time supporting others.

Zahra Shah, spokesperson for Action West London, said the charity wanted to make fitness feel accessible rather than intimidating.

“We are pleased to announce our new Spring timetable, which offers even more ways for women and girls in Acton to get moving,” she said. “We know that starting a fitness journey can feel daunting, so we have created a space where everyone feels welcome to move, laugh, and get stronger together.”

All sessions are free for participants, but places are limited and early registration is encouraged.

Women interested in joining the programme can find more information or book a place here.
