Kidnapped teenager rescued by armed police

Wheels of minicab shot out in Acton street

Armed police have rescued a 19 year old youth from kidnappers who were seeking the payment of a ransom for his release.

The youth was taken by mini-cab to London after been kidnapped in Bristol. At around 5.15pm on 22nd August a specialist kidnap unit, with assistance from armed officers, pulled over a Citroen car in Bowes Rd at the junction Glendune Rd, Acton. The hostage was rescued from the vehicle and three men inside were arrested in connection with the kidnap. A further two men were arrested at an address in Acton. The mini-cab driver had become unwittingly involved in the kidnap

The men range from 19 years to 29 years old and live in the West London area. The hostage was taken to hospital as he had been tortured during his imprisonment but his injuries are not believed to be serious. The police believe that the kidnap related to a dispute involving crack cocaine drug dealing.
